Zap2it.com’s Hanh Nguyen reports that James Bond film producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have suspended development of the twenty-third official Bond film, due to failure to find a buyer for studio MGM.
Though I don’t see it happening, I hope the situation is resolved soon. Daniel Craig deserves to make the three more Bond films for which he’s under contract. Timothy Dalton was supposed to star in a third film himself, but a legal quagmire derailed that.
MGM seems to have been on the decline for decades. Barring a reversal of fortune, I’ve been pulling for Bond to find a more stable home. I don’t see that happening, either.

How sad, I was pumped to see Sam Mendes attached to this project. I think he could have delivered something special.
Maybe he will go back to The Preacher.
