Crimespree issue 1

Crimespree issue 1

In June 2004 Mark Billingham was doing a tour of the US for his latest book and the tour started in Milwaukee. Mark stopped by our house and was actually here when the very first copies of Crimespree were dropped off with Mark on the cover. It’s been ten years since we shipped that first issue. The first few issues we shipped on our own, hours of stuffing envelopes and putting on stamps. Now we have a wonderful printer that actually ships for us as well (Thanks Rick Sachse and Digital Edge). We are sending copies to 7 countries and have subscribers in every part of the US. It’s been a fun ten years. We’re looking forward to many more. Over the years a lot of great folks have contributed to the magazine including some heavy hitting fans and best selling authors. And we have a lot more planned as we enter decade two.

As part of the celebration we are making a special offer for new subscribers and people who renew.

If you hook up with a subscription in the month of July we will email you a free digital copy of our next 6 issues to go with the print version. (These will be emailed to you)

We will also be entering all subscriptions into a drawing for some great prizes including:

ARCHIE THE AFTERLIFE volume 1, a great comic collection that is getting a lot of well deserved buzz.

Trade copies of Reed Farell Coleman’s THE HOLLOW GIRL

SIGNED copies of Duane Swierczynski’s FUN AND GAMES.

We have a few sets of Mark Billingham’s first two books in trade to give out, SLEEPYHEAD and SCARDEY CAT.

We are also going to be selling print back issues for $2.50 each if you buy 5 or more. Email me a list to make sure we have copies, we’ve run out of a few. (jon@crimespreemag.com)

If you share this article email a link and you could win a free year of Crimespree. I’ll pick 10 random people who share this. (jon@crimespreemag.com)

Digital copies Issues 1-12 will be dropped to 99 cents for the month for Kindle.

Thanks for a great first ten years!
