ABC looking to turn Poe into crime fighter.

No folks, this is not a joke.

THR is reporting that ABC has ordered a pilot for a series in which Edgar Allen Poe will solve crimes. The series would be set, in Boston, in the 1840s.

Chris Hollier (ALIAS, KYLE XY) is the creative force behind this and Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Alex Graves will direct. Graves track record is an impressive one: He has worked on THE WEST WING, SPORTS NIGHT, THE PRACTICE, FRINGE and is handling directing duties on the upcoming pilot for the Steven Spielberg-produced TERRA NOVA.

Regardless the talent connected to it, this sounds like a bad joke.
