No shock here: A&E announced today they are ordering a fourth season of the fairly successful drama THE GLADES.
The third season of “The Glades” averaged 4.1 million total viewers, whereas season two averaged 3.9 million. Honestly, the show’s overall quality has also gone up. It may be better writing or it simply may be the continued development of the actors’ relationships with one another.
Season four of “The Glades” will begin production soon and will premiere in 2013. A&E is currently in pre-production on the new scripted drama series “Bates Motel,” slated for a 2013 premiere and the second season of the scripted hit series “Longmire,” which also will premiere in 2013.
For those that are not familiar with the show, Matt Passmore stars as Jim Longworth, a cocky detective that, after a scandal in Chicago that resulted in him getting shot and receiving a big settlement, has relocated to the Florida town to relax, work on his golf game and solve the occasional crime. Jim initially comes across as a smug ass, but soon meets nurse Callie (Kiele Sanchez) and is smitten. Callie is a single mother and, in addition to raising her son and working full-time, is going to med school.
Season three ended on a cliff-hanger as Jim asked Callie to marry him.
