MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1
ABC Studios

As a huge fan of the Marvel Comics movies there was no way I wasn’t going to pick this up. I love the character of Agent Coulson played by Clark Gregg. It’s been said before but it’s true, he is kind of the glue connecting all the movies.

The first few episodes were fun, not earth shaking, but enjoyable. And then the show started to really get good. It reflected events from the movies and even had cameos. The most notable movie bleed through was post Cap America :Winter Soldier. Shield infiltrated by Hydra and the aftermath of that which included our gang of agents being on the run and not knowing who to trust. The show has a number of those who can we trust moments, but unlike some show they are not dragged out over a lot of episodes which I liked, it keeps the pace moving quick.

The team is made up of Coulson who is in charge and given a great plane which serves as their base. Ming-Na Wen plays agent Melinda May, a Shield veteran who has seen it all and is a bit battle weary. Grant Ward is a younger agent used to working alone, and Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons are science officers. They also early on recruit a woman named Skye who is an uber hacker.

Some nice on going subplots tie it all together but don’t take over the show. There is plenty of action of course, but also great humor and I just love seeing the world of Marvel expanded like this. I can’t wait for Season 2.
