AMC has released a nine minute trailer for their upcoming remake (or “recreation” as star Jim Caviezel calls it).

A man, known as “Six,” finds himself inexplicably trapped in “The Village” with no memory of how he arrived. As he explores his environment, he discovers that his fellow inhabitants are identified by number instead of name, have no memory of any prior existence, and are under constant surveillance. Not knowing whom to trust, Six is driven by the need to discover the truth behind The Village, the reason for his being there, and most importantly — how he can escape.

Ian McKellen (Gods and Monsters, Lord of the Rings) plays Number Two, the head of The Village, with Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ) as Number Six.

The clip certainly makes me interested in the show. It looks pretty twisted, especially the end where Two and Six are confronting one another. I still have my doubts as to whether they can update the show for today and still be faithful to the original.

THE PRISONER will air, in November on AMC.
