Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas met with the show’s former star Kristen Bell about the possibility of making a film based on the cult series. In addition to confirming that meeting, Thomas said he has had some conversations with former VM exec producer Joel Silver.
Thomas is currently a busy man, with a reworking of his 1998 series Cupid in the works, and he recently wrote/produced the pilot for the upcoming 90210 series and is developing another television series based on a show from New Zealand (Outrageous Fortune).
But Thomas said “But as soon as I have any free time, that’s my top priority.”

This is cool news. Veronica Mars was a very fun, very well made series. Granted, the last season was not quite as good as the first, but the overall quality was still heads and tails above most things that we are subjected to.
When the show was on the bubble, the fans launched a massive campaign to save the series.
Thomas developed a rather interesting proposal to revamp the show: It would jump forward in time a few years, with Mars a new FBI agent.
