Well, this year’s Wizard World convention has come to an end. I have to say, this being my first full convention weekend, I was totally overwhelmed. The sheer amount of things to see and do made my head spin and my wallet considerably lighter. I was very happy to have Jon and Ruth there to help guide me through the mass of information and vendor booths, as well as introduce me to the people who, up till now,I had just received e-mails from. We spent time at several of the publisher’s booths meeting people and dropping off press kits. Then it was off to shop, shop, and shop some more.
This year I also was very happy to see both Brian Azzarello and Greg Rucka again. Having meet them last year at Murder and Mayhem in Muskego. I had a wonderful time talking and catching up with them on what was new with them. I also met Mark Kidwell and R.D. Hall Two writers who really are at the top of their game. Also they are two of the nicest gentlemen, they made me feel like a long time friend as soon as I meet them.

I know this blog would not be complete if I didn’t talk about the world premiere movie. This year that movie was Batman Gotham Knight. This movie was, without a doubt, one of the best animated movies I have seen ever. Six different writers created six seemingly different sub-movies but all had a similar themes in each one. Batman Gotham Knight comes out July 8th 2008 on DVD, Blueray, Netflix Instant access, and several other venues. Check it out, you won’t be sorry.
All in all I had a great time this year at Wizard World Chicago I met great people and picked up some great new graphic novels that I will review very soon.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot I have several pictures that will be posted just as soon as the camera has time to recharge.
