Deadline has reported that Bill Pullman (While You Were Sleeping, Independence Day) will be playing the lead in TNT’s INNOCENT.
The telefilm is based on Scott Turow’s novel of the same name and is a sequel to Presumed Innocent, the bestselling book that was made into a film with Harrison Ford.
Pullman is playing Judge Rusty Sabich. 20 years have passed since the events in Presumed Innocent and Rusty is now a judge. When his wife dies under mysterious circumstances, Rusty finds himself charged with her murder.
I don’t know if I buy Pullman in that role. Not to knock the guy, but his style does not jive with what I get from both novels.
INNOCENT will be the first telefilm in TNT’s upcoming Tuesday Night Mystery series. Others in the series will include Sandra Brown’s RICOCET, Richard North Patterson’s SILENT WITNESS and Lisa Gardner’s HIDE.
