The Coen Brothers have debuted their new film, No Country for Old Men, as the Cannes Film festival. Early feedback has been very positive.
There is a foreign site that has five clips, from the film, for viewing. Give ’em a look.
No Country for Old Men is based on the Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name.
Set in West Texas in 1980, the story is about a young Vietnam vet who stumbles over the remnants of a drug deal gone bad. He’s hunted by two extremely vicious assassins who want the money back.
From the sounds of it, the Brothers Coen are heading back to the gritty material that they started with (Blood Simple, Miller’s Crossing).
Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson and Javier Bardem star.
I am certainly a fan of the Coens (The demise of Wheezy Joe is, quite simply, one of the funniest film scenes of the last ten years.) and can’t wait for this one. No Country for Old Men will have a limited U.S. release on Nov 9th, with it going nationwide on Nov 21st.
