So it looks like George Clooney will likely star in the film version of Olen Steinhauer’s The Tourist.

Last October, we posted that Warner Bros had purchased the rights to Mr. Olen’s book. At the time, the only info was that George Clooney and Grant Heslov would produce. At the time, it looked unlikely Clooney would star due to his overloaded schedule. Since then, some projects (White Jazz among them) has fallen through so Mr. Clooney’s schedule is merely ridiculously loaded as opposed to insanely loaded.

“A spy must risk everything to reveal a conspiracy after he’s suspected of a murder he didn’t commit. “

Also announced is that Anthony Peckham has been given the task of adapting the fantastic novel. Peckham recently adapted John Carlin’s The Human Factor, a book about Nelson Mandela. The Human Factor will feature Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon and will be directed by Clint Eastwood.

Clooney will next be seen in the Coen Bros Burn After Reading and is currently doing voicework for Wes Anderson’s The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
