Warner Bros. Animation’s latest Batman series is a throwback to the classically drawn, lighter superhero cartoons of the 1960s. Each episode teams a clever, bantering Batman (Diedrich Bader) with guest heroes, both famous and cult favorite.
Typically there is a short standalone adventure before the opening credits, followed by a longer main adventure. This release collects the first half of Season 1 (13 half-hour episodes on 2 discs). I would have liked some behind-the-scenes extras, but that will have to wait for an as-yet-unannounced full season or complete series set. In the meantime, as Cartoon Network seems to air episodes erratically, this set is worth picking up.
