The Goon is a wonderful book. A noir style book full of gangsters and monsters and undead. Done with wonderful humor and great action this book is one of those things I can pick up no matter what mood I’m in and walk away in a better mood.

The Goon is a big bruiser of a man who works as an enforcer for a local mobster, Labrazio. He fights zombies and other monsters with his childhood pal Franky. I don’t want to give away too much back story because it will be much more fun for you to read it. The Goon spends a lot of time fighting The Zombie Priest, who hides out on Lonely Street and is always a pain in the ass.

What’s really great about The Goon is that it’s just damn fun to read. The art is great and Powell obviously loves doing it. It has wonderful violence and it’s at time heart warming and obnoxious.
