First images from ALEX CROSS

Crusading Detective/Psychologist ALEX CROSS (Tyler Perry) meets his match against the psychotic, mob hit man, MICHAEL SULLIVAN aka THE BUTCHER. As Cross investigates the hit man’s gruesome murders, Sullivan decides to send him a deadly message by murdering his wife in cold blood. Now enraged, Cross vows to hunt down the killer if it’s the last thing he does. However, Sullivan is a serial killing mastermind and continues to evade Cross while pushing him to an ethical breaking point as a cop and father. As Cross closes in on the killer, he discovers evidence that points to the unimaginable–a revelation that could change everything. With unstoppable action, and unforeseeable twists, this suspenseful action thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.

ALEX CROSS  is based on the work of James Patterson and stars Tyler Perry as Alex Cross, Patterson’s iconic sleuth. Rob Cohen (XXX, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) is directing. The story appears to be a blend of a few different Patterson novels. The first pictures from the film have landed online, take a gander.

First up, let us take a look at Matthew Fox as Michael Sullivan aka The Butcher. Fox is best known for the TV series PARTY OF FIVE and LOST.

Holy Spit, Matthew Fox has turned himself in a homicidal bunch of muscles. Anyone that rememers him from Party of Five may have trouble sleeping tonight. It would appear that Sullivan is applying a submission move in an MMA bout.

When word first came that Fox would be playing the villian, I said it would be a big departure for him and might open doors if done right. I don’t think anyone expected this sort of transformation. One glance and I buy him as a brutal killer.

All right, next up is Ed Burns as  Thomas Kane, the partner of Cross (Tyler Perry). Burns first broke on the scene as a writer/director/actor with THE BROTHERS MCMULLEN but has since established himself as a supporting actor.

And finally, there is Tyler Perry as Alex Cross.

The pictures certainly have my curiousity piqued. The film also features Jean Reno, Cicely Tyson, Giancarlo Esposito and John C McGinley. It lands in theaters on October 26th of this year.
