From Rumor to reality: Gyllenhaal in final negotiations to replace Holmes in The Dark Knight (AKA Batman II…or VI depending on how you look at it.)

In a previous post on The Dark Knight, we mentioned that Maggie Gyllenhaal was likely to take Katie Holmes place as Rachael Dawson.

Now, the Hollywood Reporter is…well, reporting that Gyllenhaal (The Secretary, Sherrybaby)is in final negotiations to take the role. I am asuming they simply need to wrap up creative approval on action figures.

The article quoted Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan (Momento, The Prestige) as saying: “I’m extremely excited to work with an actress of Maggie’s caliber, and she’s a great addition to the cast as we continue our story.”

With each addition to the cast, I get more excited for this film.
