REACHER_BD_OSleeve_3D_SKEWParamount Home Entertain will be releasing JACK REACHER on May 7th. The Lee Child inspired flick will be available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Months before a single frame was seen, folks were pissing themselves at the very idea of the less-than-tall Cruise playing Reacher. As it turns out, the worries for unfounded. While few will mistake JACK REACHER for high cinema, the film is a damn fun roller coaster ride. The Guardian disagrees, but that might be a result of that big stick up it’s ass. For those that have been living under a rock, JACK REACHER is based on ONE SHOT,a  novel by Lee Child that features a character described as being 6 foot 5 inches and weighing 250 pounds. When Cruise was announced, some folks went bat shit crazy about it. I am not lying, people were not just vowing not to see the film, but to never buy another Lee Child book ever again. Lee had betrayed them and destroyed the beliefs upon which their world was founded. To them I say: Reacher is a fictional character that beats up bad guys! Relax and get a life.
The DVD won’t have any extras, but the BD combo pack shows a little love for film geeks:
Commentary by Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie
Commentary by composer Joe Kraemer
When the Man Comes Around
You Do Not Mess with Jack Reacher: Combat & Weapons
The Reacher Phenomenon
The DVD retails at $29.99 with the BD/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack coming in at $39.99
