On this day, July 4th, the United States celebrates it’s independence. Generally, we do this by eating food of dubious quality, drinking much liquor and handling explosive devices.
That said, I am constantly amazed that this messy, complicated democracy continues to thrive. In the last couple of decades, the world has seen many elections, but the portion that are actually legit is depressingly small. Americans are loud, and often obnoxious, but we continue to embrace our system and live by the election results.
That said, I leave you with this gem from what may well be the finest attempts to blend education with entertainment (Outside of the muppets and Sesame Street).
