Several cast members, including star Vincient D’Onofrio, are leaving L&O: CI.
According to an article in THR, the show will see not only D’Onofrio depart, but Eric Bogosian (Captain Ross), Julianne Nicholson (Detective Megan Wheeler, partner of Jeff Goldblum’s Detective Zach Nichols) and Kathryn Erbe (D’Onofrio’s partner Det. Alex Eames) will be heading out as well.
The only addition that has been mentioned is Saffron Burrows (BOSTON LEGAL), who will be coming on board as Det. Nichols’ new partner.
While Jeff Goldblum has gotten a fair amount of praise for his work on the show, I am shocked to see such a dramatic house cleaning going on. I would assume much of this is to cut costs, but D’Onofio and Eames have been the heart of the show. I hope the producers can deliver a strong enough cast to keep the show from sinking.
