Jamie Hector as Jerry Edgar.Author Michael Connelly, through his website, offered some info regarding the upcoming BOSCH pilot.

As previously reported, Amazon Studios has ordered a pilot featuring Connelly’s iconic L.A. detective.
The first season (if a full season is ordered) will be based on the CITY OF BONES and THE CONCRETE BLONDE novels as well as a short story (CIERO AZUL) and has Bosch pursuing the killer of a 13-year-old boy while standing trial in federal court on accusations that he murdered a suspected serial killer in cold blood. Bosch’s military past has been moved from Vietnam to the first Gulf War, keeping his duty as a tunnel rat for special forces. Titus Welliver was previously announced as Bosch, but we now know that Jamie Hector is playing Jerry Edgar, Bosch’s partner. Hector plays Marlo Standfield on THE WIRE and Knox on HEROES. Also on board are Annie Wersching as Julia Brasher.
Connelly, along with Eric Overmyer (TREME, THE WIRE), wrote the screenplay, is quite excited about the project.
I am very excited about the prospects of this show. Harry Bosch is not right for network TV and Amazon Studios reached out to me because they understood Harry Bosch and wanted to help me realize the character in this different dimension. We have a tight script, a great cast and production team, and I am very confident we are making something all Harry Bosch fans (including myself!) will embrace.”
Connelly and Overmeyer also both act as executive producers.
Early next year, possibly March, you’ll will be able to watch the pilot free of charge. If it moves forward as a series, fans will have to subscribe to Amazon’s instant video service.
