Mos Def (16 BLOCKS, DEXTER) and John Hawkes (WINTER’S BONE, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE) will be stepping into the world of Elmore Leonard. The two are on board to star in the film version of THE SWITCH.
Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara have lots in common—time in the same slammer, convictions for grand theft auto, and a plan for a big score. They’re going to snatch the wife of a Detroit developer and collect some easy ransom money. They don’t figure on a bum of a husband who has a secret mistress and no desire to get his wife back. Or on his crazy, beautiful broad of a housewife who’s going to join Ordell and Louis in the slickest, saviest crime of all.
Ordell and Louis previously appeared in JACKIE BROWN, Quentin Tarantino’s flick based on Leonard’s RUM PUNCH.
I have to say I am excited to see Mos Def step into this. I totally dig the book and Mos has really evolved into a fine actor. His work on the most recent season of DEXTER was exceptional and he was one of the few high points of Bruce Willis’ 16 BLOCKS.
