The very cool Nathan Fillion (Mal on Firefly) is in negotiations for the lead in an upcoming ABC pilot entitled Castle.
Castle is” a comedic procedural about a famous mystery novelist (Fillion) helping the NYPD solve crimes.”
Not sure what I think about this. I suppose it could be decent.
Fillion has had tough luck with television, he has had two series (Firefly, Drive) die before the first season ended. Now I never watched Drive, but Firefly was truly a great series and it was politics at Fox that killed it. The shows were aired out of order and had a two week hiatus after just three episodes. If memory serves me right, they also aired it an hour later a couple of times.
I like Nathan so I will give pretty much anything he does a chance.
"Comedic procedural"? Zap2it.com's mention of CASTLE missed that. I'm intrigued.
I like Fillion's work also. I'll probably give it a look-see.The combination of procedural and comedy looks to be a bit different. They need to get away from the talking to the dead/immortal/vampire stuff anyway.
This looks like it could be fun. I think Fillion is just the right guy for a series like this.
