I have a couple more names to add to the cast of Night Watch.

Terry Crews will be playing Washington, an LAPD spokeman. Crews described the role as follows: “He’s an LAPD spokesman who’s kind of had a turn, who’s seen a lot of dirt go on in the LAPD and has decided to try an pull some guys out of it and it really comes back on me in a lot of ways. A lot of guys don’t want to be out of it.”

Crews can currently be seen on Everybody Hates Chris, where he plays Chris’ father. He is currently filming Get Smart, with Steve Carell, Anne Hathawat and Alan Arkin.

Grammy-nominated Rapper Common has signed on to play Coates, a drug dealer posing as an undercover cop.

Common made his film debut in Smokin’ Aces, and will next be seen in American Gangster with Denzel Washingston and Russell Crowe.

As was previously mentioned here:
Chris Evans (Human Torch in Fantastic Four) and Hugh Laurie (House) will be playing Internal Affairs cops.

Reeves is a member of an elite unit of LAPD cops called Ad/Vice. Ad/Vice uses ruthless, and often brutal, tactics to do their job. After his life falls apart with the death of his wife, he starts to question whether the end justifies the means.

Forrest Whitaker is the captain of the unit, who is also a mentor to Reeves. When Whitaker’s character is implicated in the death of another officer, Reeves takes a stand against his longtime mentor and his former partners.

David Ayer will direct and handle writing duties. Ayer wrote the screenplays for Training Day and Dark Blue, and made his directorial debut with Harsh Times.

Night Watch is based on an original story by James Ellroy.
