Sony Picture Home Entertainment has announced that PREACHER: Season One will be released, on Blu-ray and DVD, on October 4th.
PREACHER is based on the amazing comic book series from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Jesse Custer (played by Dominic Cooper) a down and out Texas preacher that becomes imbibed with the incredible power of Genesis, an entity that is the result of the coupling of an angel and a demon.
Upon finding out that God has apparently abandoned his duties in heaven, the Preacher heads out, across country, to confront God. His ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy, a hard drinking Irish vampire (Joseph Gilgun) accompany him.
PREACHER has been developed, for both film and TV, numerous times and finally hit the small screen when Seth Rogan (Yes, that Seth Rogan), Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin put not only their money, but their time and energy, where their mouths are and convinced AMC to give Jesse a chance. While season one is not over, AMC has already ordered a second season.
