Over the last couple of weeks, there has been much speculation as to whether or not former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was playing B.A. Baracus in Joe Carnahan’s upcoming film version of THE A-TEAM.

The SUN had reported he was in, only to have MTV report he was not.

Now several MMA sources, including The Wrestling Observer/Figure 4 Weekly, are reporting that Jackson’s upcoming bout against Rashad Evans has been canceled. The bout was expected to be huge. Jackson and Evans have some bad blood and both are coaches in the upcoming tenth season of THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER. The season features several former NFL players as well as internet sensation Kimbo Slice and is also certainly going to be the show’s biggest season since the third (which features Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock).

This could be great or awful. Jackson is, as I have previously said, a very charismatic guy. He is funny and looks like he could beat the crap out of most of us at once.

But, he also has no acting experience is not one of the most eloquent speakers. I would imagine that they will have acting coaches on hand 24/7 working with Rampage. He is very excited and has said that this is a dream come true, that he and his father watched the original series together. I have no doubt that he will work very hard, but he seem to struggle at times in his previous stint on TUF (He coached opposite Forrest Griffin) when talking to the camera and expressing himself.

If all goes well, this could do for Jackson what the original did for Mr. T.
