I am sure most of you have now found out that Ricardo Montalban has passed away. At this time, no cause of death has been announced.

He was 88 years old.

For me, RM will always be Kahn. His performance in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn was amazing and helped revive the series after a lackluster first film.

But my first memories are of Fantasy Island. I was around ten and remember occasionally being creeped out by some of the segments (the ones that took the adage “Be careful what you wish for because you might get it” to the limit).

Over the course of a career that covered parts of seven decades, Mr. Montalban played virtually every type of role imaginable: The dashing hero, cruel villain, smooth Latin lover, kind grandfather…there was hardly a role he would not do.

I am sure many of us can remember him from the Chrysler commercials, talking about the rich Corrrinthian leather. I was a kid with no interest in cars, but I knew that the Chrysler was a fine automobile, Ricardo made that clear enough!

He is survived by four children and two grand-children.
