Ok folks, if you have not already seen this elsewhere, this is your chance to see the first official image from Oliver Stones’ film version of SAVAGES.
Based on Don Winslow’s killer novel, SAVAGES is about a pair of marijuana growers horticultural genius and bleeding heart do-gooder Ben (Aaron Johnson) and ex-Navy SEAL Chon (Taylor Kitsch) and their girlfriend O (Blake Lively). The three are like family and that bond is used by Elena (Selma Hayek), a ruthless cartel boss, to convince them to work for her. She kidnaps O and forces Chon and Ben to help her take over their business. Benicio Del Toro (Seen with Lively in the pic) is one of Elena’s henchmen.
SAVAGES also stars John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Emile Hirsch.
The book is full on brilliant and, in my opinion, should have won every damn mystery award there is. This is the kind of book that sees the author take his skills to the next level and leaves all of us asking “Damn, how did he do that?” the minute we finish the last page. If the film is half as good as the book, it will be amazing. With Winslow (a co-writer of the screenplay) being as involved as he was, I have faith that this will rock.
