Supergirl Season One

SUPERGIRL Season One Warner Home Video   I love comics and so of course I am loving all the comic based TV shows. DC has been doing a great job and there newest addition Supergirl is so good on so many levels. It’s great to see them have a female lead who can really carry the show with seemingly no effort. I also love the rest of the cast and the great story telling.   Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is the cousin of Superman and was originally put in a ship as Krypton was exploding so she could watch out for her cousin Kal-El. The ship went astray and she instead of being the older kryptonian watching over Kal-El she landed years...

Comic-Con footage suggests that DC may have finall...

This weekend San Diego was overrun with fanboys, geeks and all sorts of obsessed folk dressed in garb that likely leaves most people scratching their heads. Comic-Con is upon us. Once upon a time, it was about comics, but now is a launching pad for all things Hollywood. And this year, it looks like DC Comics’s Entertainment Division has found it’s funny. After years of dark, brooding films, the new trailers for WONDER WOMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and SUICIDE SQUAD provide color, humor and a spirit that has been missing for years. Christopher Nolan’s BATMAN films did have spirit, but were the birth of the darkness that enveloped...

PREACHER: AMC orders a second season

Midway through it’s freshman season, PREACHER has earned enough love from AMC to garner a second season. AMC has announced that they have ordered a second season consisting of 13 episodes, three more than the current season. This is a tremendous success for a project that has spent over 20 years languishing in Hollywood. In that time, it has bounced from series to film and had Sam Mendes and James Marsden attached to it. It wasn’t until Seth Rogen (KNOCKED UP, SUPERBAD)  stepped up that things really started moving. The TV series is not 100% faithful to the comics, but it captures the spirit and is worth...
