The Crimespree Invasion of C2E2: The Kate (and Dan...

::Kate walks into the office, sees nothing but a giant fort made of comic books:: K: Dan? Are you in here? D: Yeah, I’m right here. K: Hello? D: I’m right here – IN MY GIANT FORT OF COMIC BOOKS! <duh duh DUH> ::drawbridge of trade paperbacks lowers to reveal Dan sitting on a throne of back issues:: K: Wow. That’s impressive. D: I had to do something with all of our loot from C2E2. And really, who doesn’t want to hang out in a comic book clubhouse? K: Are girls allowed in your clubhouse? D: Only if you promise not to ruin the comics by crushing them or getting make up on them. And don’t break the bindings. Or take them out of the bag...

C2E2 con report 2013 – Jon’s experienc...

Our adventure to C2E2 has now become an annual event for us. This is the second year we drove down to Chicago with Dan and Kate and have been the recipients of lovely hospitality by our friends Tasha and Andrew. They let us take over their living room with our luggage and comics for the weekend. This year also involved a terrific homemade dinner and a Lego birthday cake for Ruth. Kate and Dan headed over to C2E2 Friday afternoon and caught the Kill Shakespeare panel and then did an interview with the creators (Coming soon to this very site). Ruth hung out with Tasha while your narrator hit the downtown Lego store with Andrew and Xander....

Giant-Size X-Men #1 with Kate (and Dan)

::Kate has her fingers pressed to her temples, while staring at The Dog with a terrible intensity:: D: Don’t make me ask. K: ::stares at dog, squints eyes:: D: C’mon. Just tell me. K: ::stares at Dog, squints eyes, starts to sweat:: D: WHAT IN HELL ARE YOU DOING??? K: Well, with C2E2 coming up at the end of the month (plug, plug), I like to do a little prep work. I dug up this reprint of GIANT SIZE X-MEN written by Len Wein. This issue came out a long, long time ago. I think it says 1975. Man, that’s old. Like really, really old. Say, weren’t you born in ’75? D: Shut up. So what’s up with the staring contest? K: ::points to page with the...

C2E2: An Outsider’s View Inside

Let me begin this by saying that I am not the go to comic guy. If you want to know what Magneto was up to in the nineties, I have no idea. If you are curious as to the origins of the current Robin, I only know Dick Grayson. The Avengers are a block buster movie to me, not a superhero team that dates back decades. I read some comics, mostly on the advice of people far more knowledgeable than myself. But I know very little of the comics world. C2E2 is a celebration devoted to the people who know and love the comics world with every fiber of their being. It is filled with vendors, publishers, artists, and authors who create the characters and...
