Another Stack of Comics Goodness

All New Atom #24 DC Comics Chronos and Lady Chronos, time travel, and Ray Palmer. Something big is coming for the final issue of this comic and #25 should be a lot of fun. This issue sets up all sorts of stuff and is really fun Avengers/Invaders #2 Marvel/Dynamite This is a very nice looking book. Alex Ross covers and the Steve Sadowski art inside looks great. The story is from Ross and Jim Krueger who in the past have given us some great books. So far this title is nothing new and there is nothing going on we haven’t seen before. Ian Rankin has been writing mystery novels for more than 20 years, this year he is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his series character John Rebus.Ian is also a rabid comics fan. Next year Ian’s first comic is coming out from DC Vertigo, a stand alone Hellblazer. I recently interviewed Ian and we talked about nothing but comics. There are some really fun things going on right now and it sure feels like a reat time to be a fan of comics.Batman # 667, 668DC ComicsGrant Morrison has done it again, taken classic DC lore and brought to the present. The latest batch, new comics

This weeks trip to the comic store was like all of them are, enjoyable. I don’t pick up everything beause I wait fro the trade editions of some titles. But here’s what I picked up this week. John Constantie Hellblazer #229 this is a standalone story between creative teams and on writing chores they had Mike Carey on board. It’s a fun little tale and self contained. John is haveing a few pints with friends and is asked for a favor. Before doing the favor he relates a tale of the last favor he did.
