The folks behind the fabulously named  Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year have revealed the shortlist for the 2016 award. Now in its twelfth year, the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award was created to celebrate the very best in crime writing and is open to crime authors whose novels were published in paperback from 1 May 2015 to 18 April 2016. The 2016 Award is run in partnership with T&R Theakston Ltd, WHSmith, and The Radio Times. Mark Billingham’s Helen Weeks heads to the B...

Mark Billingham’s Tom Thorne has found a home, on television, on Sky One, but fellow Billingham creation DS Helen Weeks is looking to make a bigger splash with the BBC. Mark recently announced that BBC Drama North will be adapting 2008’s IN THE DARK for a series that is expected to debut in Late 2016. A second season (or series) will be based on TIME OF DEATH (Out tomorrow), the second book to feature DS Helen Weeks. No word on casting yet, it will be interesting to see who plays Thorne, who ends up dating Weeks. His presence in IN THE DARK is limited, but he plays apparently plays a greater role in TIME OF DEATH. David...

In June 2004 Mark Billingham was doing a tour of the US for his latest book and the tour started in Milwaukee. Mark stopped by our house and was actually here when the very first copies of Crimespree were dropped off with Mark on the cover. It’s been ten years since we shipped that first issue. The first few issues we shipped on our own, hours of stuffing envelopes and putting on stamps. Now we have a wonderful printer that actually ships for us as well (Thanks Rick Sachse and Digital Edge). We are sending copies to 7 countries and have subscribers in every part of the US.
