As a little kid, 40 felt like it was one step away from death. That was the age your parents and their friends “celebrated” with black balloons and they gave each other geriatric medical supplies. Clearly this was an age when the wrinkles and grey hair would set in. The next stop would be the home for the infirm.  This year was the year that I turned that magical age. This Year I’m Punching Back

Some people might call me “perfectionist”. Others might say I have a “Type A personality”. Planning everything out is kind of my thing. I’ll tell you a little secret…I like creating To Do lists. Checking things off the list is my favorite. Wordsmith Mike Tyson (yes, the ear-chomping boxer) once said, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” That’s one way to look at what happened to my plans in 2005. After experiencing tingling and numbness in my hands and legs, as well as blurry vision, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disorder.
