The generous folk at NBC have offered up a new promo for CONSTANTINE. This promo features quite a bit of new, feel-good footage. In “Constantine,” based on the comic book series “Hellblazer,” seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine specializes in giving hell… hell. Comic book fans might want to look extra close at this trailer. After watching it, I had to dig though my Justice League and All Star Squadron comics to figure out where I had seen that helmet before. The series features Matt Ryan as John Constantine, demon hunter and master of the occult. If you watch carefully, you will see a reference to another DC character. An older, lesser known one. HANNIBAL Season One Lionsgate Back in 1975 Thomas Harris wrote a book about a terrorist attack on a Superbowl called BLACK SUNDAY, it was made into a movie and I read the mass market paperback in 1976. In 1981 Harris released a book called RED DRAGON. It too was made into a movie, The film was called Manhunter and was directed by Michael Mann. I love this film. I loved it enough to get the book and I loved the book as well. In 1988 Harris wrote a sequel called SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Some of the same characters and a new lead investigator. NBC seems to be in love with the past. Despite having previous attempts flop, they are looking to remake yet another classic show. Word has come that the Peacock network is planning  to redo MURDER, SHE WROTE. The new series would star Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer (THE HELP) as a former hospital administrator turned mystery writer/detective. The original series aired on CBS, from 1984 to 1996, and starred Angela Lansbury as former school teacher turned mystery writer and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher.
