NCIS: New Orleans – The First Season

NCIS: New Orleans – The First Season Paramount Home Entertainment Released: August 18, 2015   NCIS: New Orleans follows the cases of the smaller office introduced in the two-part “Crescent City” episode of NCIS Season 11. Having watched “Crescent City” when it aired, I was impressed that the same interrogation goals Gibbs accomplishes with aloof distrust, his friend Dwayne Cassius Pride (Scott Bakula) accomplishes with openness and empathy.   Pride’s protege, Chris LaSalle (Lucas Black), while rivaling Tony DiNozzo for looks and charm, also showed gravitas DiNozzo seldom does. The character I...

This week has Acorn Media bringing us the characters of Kate Atkinson (CASE HISTORIES) and Jonathon Gash (LOVEJOY) , as well as Christopher Nolan’s latest fascinating, and sometimes goofy, epic flick. ELEMENTARY Season 2

ELEMENTARY The Second Season Paramount Home Entertainment   When this show first aired I was reluctant to watch, I’m generally not a fan of Lucy Liu and the changes they were making seemed arbitrary. After viewing season 1 I revised my opinion and am a fan of the show.   Season 2 was stronger in part I believe because the characters are developing more of a relationship. I really enjoyed the episodes with Mycroft Holmes and hope he will continue to be a recurring character. Johnny Lee Miller also seemed even better than in the first season. I love the recovery angle they have working and having him become a sponsor for another...

CRIMINAL MINDS The Ninth Season

CRIMINAL MINDS The Ninth Season Paramount Home Entertainment Release date: August 26th, 2014 I enjoyed this season a lot. Some of the things that were getting on my nerves a bit were actually toned down (such as Garcia’s over cuteness). The characters have all really grown into their roles on the squad and I especially think JJ (played by A.J.Cook) was terrific this season. We come into Season Nine wondering who the new boss will be and if the team will be losing Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) to a desk, not to worry, he’s still in the field. The opening two episodes tie together, The Inspiration and The Inspired had a nice twist which had the...

NCIS: The Eleventh Season

Paramount Home Entertainment Release Date: August 19th, 2014 NCIS has been consistently one of my favorite shows and the ratings show that I am not alone. I love the combination of camaraderie, drama, humor and the cases are always fun. This season sees the departure of long time team member Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) which I thought was handled really well and personally It didn’t bother me to much as I thought the character was kind of a one trick pony. This of course was flowed by a number of episodes where we see possible replacements come though, fun and gave the show a chance to have some fun. When they did replace her with Ellie...
