The one about Bill Maher by Ruth Jordan Nov18

The one about Bill Maher by Ruth Jordan

“The guy who created Spider-Man and the Hulk has died, and America is in mourning. Deep, deep mourning for a man who inspired millions to, I don’t know, watch a movie, I guess,” Maher wrote. “The assumption everyone had back [when I was a kid], both the adults and the kids, was that comics were for kids, and when you grew up you moved on to big-boy books without the pictures.” You, Sir are a part of the problem not a part of the solution. Adult Americans who read comic books? 92% of us are better educated than 3/4 of the population.  “I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to suggest that Donald Trump could only get elected in a country...

SHE-HULK #1 (1980 and 1989) with Kate (and Dan)

By the time I got there, all the donuts for Lab Appreciation Week were gone. I LOVE those donuts. And then… and...

I didn’t know whom they were, or what the hell was going on, but I knew I needed this book. If I remember correctly, the first page was a splash page showing Hawkeye and Mockingbird making out. I didn’t like that part much. Hey, I was only thirteen. But I do remember this- at the top of the page; it said “Stan Lee Presents…” I didn’t know whom Stan Lee was, but I...
