THE DEADMAN COLLECTION
Neal Adams
2001
DC Comics

This has been out a while, but I just picked it up this past weekend and it was the find of the year for me. I’m a huge Neal Adams fan and I love his work on Deadman. Such a unique character and original idea.
The collection starts with a few essays by Adams, Carmine Infanto and Arnold Drake. they discuss the genesis of the character and Neal’s involvement. But what follows is the real money shot. 18 stories, all but one drawn and inked by Adams, and most written by him.
A man killed, but not quite gone, ghostlike and hunting for his killer. bits of eastern religion thrown in and some real great story telling as Boston Brand deals with what has become of him.
Books like this are why I really love DC.
