We just sat down and watched movies for the first time in a while. We’ve been doing a lot of TV on DVD so it was a nice change of pace.

THE INTERNATIONAL (Sony Pictures) starring Clive Owen is really fun. Everyone is right, the scene in the Guggenheim museum rocked. Owen plays Louis Salinger, an Interpol agent trying to bring down a very large and very corrupt bank. Loads of action, a decent plot and a nice way to spend an evening. Naomi Watts was quite good as a New York DA also working the case. i was happy with the non traditional ending as well.
Order The International

We also watched Righteous Kill with DeNiro and Pacino. Not great. Not bad. i enjoyed seeing the cast, there were some great people in this, but the story was a little lacking and they really played up the red herring angle so that the big twist at the end was a real non event. Anyone who has ever read any mystery novel ever saw it coming. That said, it was still fun to see these people doing there jobs well, even if they over did it a little and the material lacked a bit. Worth owning? maybe, I’d look for it used.
maybe buy Righteous Kill

Last up was a movie that’s been out for a bit, The Traitor with Don Cheadle. Cheadle always brings his A game and this was no exception. He’s a man selling arms to who ever wants to pay, but as the move goes on we get a better sense of him and who he is. There are some clever things going on here and it’s a smart movie. Guy Pearce was also really good. Cheadle also produced the film and I understand it was based on an idea from Steve Martin (?!!) Great modern espionage.
You Should Buy Traitor
