It would be one season too late, but The Wire has a chance to becoming a finalist for an Emmy.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the ten semi-finalists for the best Drama and Best comedy catagories.
Best Drama:
Boston Legal
Damages
Dexter
Friday Night Lights
Grey’s Anatomy
House
Lost
The Tudors
The Wire
I have to say I am thrilled to see both Dexter and The Wire on the list, as well as Damages. But can anyone tell me why Boston Legal is even being considered??
I love the show, but season four was the weakest to date and was hardly award worthy.
Voters:
Please show the world you are not as clueless as I accused you of being last year. Put Damages, Dexter and The Wire among the finalists. It will send a message to the free tv networks that it is time to step up and improve the quality of their shows. Nothing I have seen on the big four can compare to the three shows I just mentioned.
Oh yeah, here are the final ten for comedy.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Entourage
Family Guy
Flight of the Conchords
The Office
Pushing Daisies
30 Rock
Two and a Half Men
Ugly Betty
Weeds
Man, there's no justice in the world if The Wire doesn't get an Emmy this year. It really deserves and needs that kind of attention, but this is it's last chance.
Outside of The Wire winning I'd be content with Dexter or FNL winning. I'd like to see BL win, but I can't see how as I agree the current season was not that great compared to the previous ones.
I really do not want to see Lost, House or Grey's win. (I need to watch Damages some time).
The comedy section, I dunno. I'd struggle to pick. All I can tell you is I don't think it should be Pushing Daisies, Entourage, Ugly Betty or Two and a Half Men.
