TNT have four new crime dramas in development. So far, only a few details have been announced, but at least a couple sound interesting enough for me to make a date to see the pilot.
Delta Blues: DB, set in Memphis, is about a police office that moonlights as an Elvis impersonator. George Clooney is among the executive producers. Not sure if this will be any good, but the premise pretty much insures I will at least watch the pilot.
Morse Code: Donnie Wahlberg (Boomtown, New Kids on the Block, forthcoming Righteous Kill) will star as war hero who, upon returning to his hometown of Boston, joins the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Donnie Wahlberg and Jon Avnet have teamed with TNT to develop a crime drama about a young war hero-turned-Drug Enforcement Administration officer working in his hometown of Boston.
Jon Avnet will be directing and former Law & Order writer/producer Walon Green will handle writing duties. The two of them, along with Wahlberg, will produce.
Angel City (working title) features six cops in three cars during one shift, in the spirit of such classic dramas as Adam-12 and Hill Street Blues.
The shows creator, Will Beall, is an L.A police officer. Beall will, along with Barry Schindel (Law & Order) handling writing duties, and the pilot will be directed by Steve Schill (Dexter).
Untitled Joel Surnow project is a fast-paced, gritty drama about the life of an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The pilot is being executive-produced and written by Joel Surnow (co-creator of 24) and Todd Robinson.
In addition to these four shows, The Closer and Saving Grace will both return for another season.
