Last spring, I mentioned several new projects that were under consideratin at TNT, most of which were crime-related.

Now THR has posted that TNT has ok’d a pilot for DELTA BLUES. George Clooney is exec producer of this series about a Memphis cop that moonlights as an Elvis impersonator…seriously. Oh year, he also lives with his mother. It is worth noting that the character is also described as being a good cop so we are not talking about a total goof.

I said it last spring, I will say it again: That ensures I will at least watch the pilot.

The writers are Joshua Harto and Liz Garcia. Harto is an actor that he had minor roles on numerous series, while Garcia has written for DAWSON’S CREEK, WONDERFALLS and COLD CASE (where she also was a producer).

Is anyone else finding TNT must-watch TV these days? They seem to be making all the right moves. In addition to DB, they have also greenlit RIZZOLI, an Angie Harmon series that is based on the works of Tess Gerritsen and are also close to picking up the canceled NBC series SOUTHLAND.

They are also the home to LEVERAGE, THE CLOSER and SAVING GRACE. TNT has more good dramas than most networks, certainly more than NBC.
