TRUE GRIT has it's Mattie

After nationwide casting calls, Ethan and Joel Coen have cast Hailee Steinfeld as 14 year-old Mattie Rose in the upcoming TRUE GRIT.
After her father is killed, Mattie travels with the lawmen (Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon) in pursuit of the killer.
TG is based on the novel by Charles Portis and, unlike the John Wayne version, will stay faithful to the book and follow the story from Matttie’s perspective.
Filming begins, in New Mexico, next month.

    I am very curious to see how the Coens tackle the western genre.

    As someone who has read the book I'm curious to what they are going to do about her arm.

    Not sure about the arm. Logic would suggest they follow the Wayne film for that, but the Coens have never been ones to play it safe.

    Maybe computer clean-up after filming?
