Ok, this is not even remotely, crime related, but I am a fan of Whit Stillman and feel the need to mention this.

This fall will see the debut of DAMSELS IN DISTRESS, a new film by Whit Stillman (LAST DAYS OF DISCO,

DID is, according to The Playlist, about “a group of style-obsessed college girls who take in a new student and teach her their misguided ways of helping people” . This group is further described as being”“convinced that musical dance, sharp clothes and good hygiene — the Dior perfume ‘Diorissimo’ is their trademark — can all contribute to staving off the inevitable self-destructive impulses that follow hard on the heels of failed college romances.”

Adam Brody plays a suitor for Greta Gerwig’s character, a member of the group. Not only will he have to win her heart, but also erase the doubts the group has about him.

I am pleased as punch to hear that Stillman is returning to film. His name has been connected to a number of projects, but DID is his first film since 1998’s LAST DAYS OF DISCO. While LDOD did not wow me, I am a big fan of BARCELONA and METROPOLITAN.
