There are two kinds of people in the world: those who love HAPPY VALLEY and those who haven’t yet seen it.

If you have not yet watched HAPPY VALLEY, it’s time to get started, because the premiere date for Season 3 in the United States has finally been announced, and that date is May 22. The series will air a new episode once a week for six weeks.

If you’re already a fan, you probably know that Season 3 is the show’s last. And you definitely know that this is one of the best shows on television, with Sarah Lancashire delivering a stellar performance as Sergeant Catherine Cawood. We’ll have a Crimespree review before May 22, but here’s the official synopsis:

Sergeant Catherine Cawood discovers the remains of a gangland murder victim, sparking a chain of events that unwittingly leads her straight back to murderer and rapist Tommy Lee Royce, Catherine’s grandson Ryan is now sixteen and has ideas of his own about what kind of relationship he wants to have with Tommy, the man Catherine still refuses to acknowledge as his father. Still battling the seemingly never-ending problem of drugs in the valley and those who supply them, Catherine is on the cusp of retirement. Will she solve this final case?

Here’s where you can find each of the seasons:

Season 1: Acorn and AMC+, both of which have channels on Amazon Prime (Acorn is here and AMC+ is here) as well as their own streaming platforms. You can also buy Season 1 and Season 2 on Prime without subscribing to a channel.

Season 2: AMC+

Season 3: Acorn, AMC+, and BBC America

It’s worth noting that if you don’t subscribe to a channel on Amazon Prime, you can do so for a week for free. Just remember that this series will add an episode each week, so it will be the end of June before they’re all available.

HAPPY VALLEY is set in West Yorkshire, and the accents in the show are realistic. If you’re not used to the Yorkshire twang, you might want to consider turning on closed captioning.

And now, the previews…first Acorn’s and then the BBC’s. Enjoy!
