AI Policy
We’ll keep this simple: We do not and will not use generative AI* for anything (none of the articles you find on this website), nor will we knowingly publish anything that does. If we learn after the fact that generative AI was used in any part of an article we published, we’ll remove it immediately.
We will not respond to article pitches produced using generative AI or from AI agents/bots, and we will block the addresses they’re coming from.
We will not review books produced using generative AI. We will not review books or publish articles using AI for translation.
We understand that some people (authors, even) are fine with generative AI. We are not. We’re not going to change our minds about this. We love books, stories, comics, and songs created by humans.
We also recognize that there are technologies billed as AI that are not generative, such as spelling and grammar checking and screen reading. We are fine with the use of these.
* Generative A.I. is a product or service utilized to create “original” content based on a prompt or request, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Suno, and myriad others.
