Sorry this is so late, but Monday kicked the holy crap out of me today. Now that I have had time to recover, I am ready to dig into the magic of films and offer up a bit o’ dialogue.
Karen (Emma Thompson): So what’s this big news, then?
Daisy ( Lulu Popplewell): [excited] We’ve been given our parts in the nativity play. And I’m the lobster.
Karen: The lobster?
Daisy: Yeah!
Karen: In the nativity play?
Daisy: [beaming] Yeah, *first* lobster.
Karen: There was more than one lobster present at the birth of Jesus?
Daisy: Duh.
This is inspired from Miz Tasha Alexander. The Tash recently quoted LOVE ACTUALLY on Facebook. Since LA is a Holiday film, it makes sense to use it today. In this scene, Daisy tells her mother about her role in the upcoming School Nativity play. In case the dialogue did not give it away, Daisy is a new teenager.
LA is the directorial debut of Richard Curtis. Curtis wrote FOUR WEDDINGS & A FUNERAL, NOTTING HILL and the BRIDGET JONES screenplays.
