The 2009 Oscar Nominations were announced this morning. No real surprises to speak of.
The only thing I will comment on is Ron Howard’s nomination for Director. Frost/Nixon was an ok film that was made great by a couple of performances. I really don’t see anything that merits him getting nominated. Take away the performances of Langella and Sheen (Especially Langella) and you would have a mediocre film.
