Top Cow’s great series is back with a really fun summer special. Written by Hugh Sterbakov with pencils by Sheldon Mitchell this summer special has a great story and some cool extra features.
Charles, known also as The Green Thumb is having relationship problems. However due to his ability to talk to plants his problem is with a house plant gone out of control. The book opens up with some of the heroes of Freshmen racing to the scene in a horse and Buggy with Quaker at the wheel… er reigns. Charles’ plant Susie is bigger than buildings and mad at humans for wrecking the environment. She wants the two of them to go away together.
The story is told from the point of view of The Intoxicator, who happens to be one of my all time favorite characters. During the course of the story the kids tie up a few loose ends emotionally as well.
The art work rocks. Mitchell really pulled out the stops her and I love the giant plant monster.
The special stuff is cool, a diary entry from the Puppeteer, character sketches and the making of a collectible statue.
I can’t wait for more of this series.
