We weren’t sure about getting a dog back in 2017. We were just passively looking, but when I saw an ad for the saddest looking, underweight, sweet little baby you’ve ever seen, I drove to West Texas to pick him up in a Walmart parking lot. Apparently, the owners’ adult children were stepping in intervene in what had become animal hoarding house. There were snakes, monkeys, and countless cats and puppy litters abound. Who knows what else? They were working to rehome all of these poor animals, and I wish I could have taken them all.
Of course, just the one dog is like having a toddler and quite the handful all by itself. I work from home as a full-time writer now and it’s just me and Spaghetti all day. He loves the car and goes everywhere with me.
Everyone who meets him falls in love with his funny personality and sweet little face. The vet is obsessed with him and made him a special bag to bring his allergy medicine home in. I’d say he loves it. This little guy is the light of my life.
