Happy Spring! Unless, of course, it’s still icy and snowish where you are…in which case, have another hot chocolate on us.
As you know, Crimespree’s most important mission is to spread the word about books we like. So, we’re excited to say that we have a free book—and it’s a great one—for each and every one of you.
DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS was first published in 1997, and it has proven to be an enduring American Noir tale. Author Kent Harrington understands the importance of connecting readers with books, and so he has made this book available at no charge to readers of Crimespree. We’re going to publish the whole book one chapter at a time, commencing tomorrow, April 13.
As each chapter posts, you can read it online print it, or, if you choose, click the “Send to Kindle” button at the bottom of each post to have it delivered to your device or app (more about this below).
A new chapter will post each Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday. If you miss one, you can always find them grouped in Serials under Books in the menu bar above. There are 27 chapters in all.
Of course there’s something in it for Kent, too. He has a new book out, THE RAT MACHINE. If you like what you read in DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS, you should check that one out, too.

It’s been a little more than a month since we introduced you to the new Crimespree website, and we’re grateful for all your comments! We appreciate both the kudos and the constructive criticism, which has helped us make both subtle and significant improvements.

One of the changes we’ve made recently is the above-mentioned “Send to Kindle” button. We want to be clear that we’re not advocating for Kindle in adding this; it’s just another way you can read Crimespree content if you so choose.
The button is in the “Share” section at the bottom of each post. When you click it, you’ll get a pop-up window where you sign in to Amazon, and then select which device or app you want that page delivered to. Once that’s done, you can download it to the device you chose and read it whenever and wherever you like, even without wi-fi. We think this might be helpful if, say, you commute via bus or train and want to read there.
